We all need some beauty in our lives especially following the recent news in, and around, Westmoreland County.  Here are some shots of sunrise along the waterfront in Colonial Beach on July 15. 

Megan Metzger’s body has been found according to Jon Burkett of WTVR-Richmond channel 6.

At this point, there are two suspects in custody. One, Juan Benavidez, 19, who was arrested for felony arson of a car owned by Metzger. The other has remained unnamed but has been detained as a person of interest in the disappearance of Metzger.

The car was found, on fire, in Leedstown near Twiford Road. Police searched the area for hours for Benavidez with no luck until a farm worker reported he had seen Benavidez in his underwear touch an electric fence.

Early Friday morning Benavidez was arrested.

On Saturday human remains were found in two areas of King George County near Fairview Beach. One location was a Mobile Home Park on Botts Ave, the other the driveway of a home on Cottage Road.

The Virginia State Police have only confirmed that remains have been found and transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond. Crime Insider from WTVR-Richmond reported that the body was presumed, by inside information, to by that of Metzger.

Metzger, 19, went missing on the 17^th from Pamplin. She had been living a transient life moving from one area to another prior to her disappearance.

Benavidez was acquainted with Metzger. He is currently in the Northern Neck Regional Jail being held without bond.

Colonial Beach was rocking on the Fourth of July. With thousands and thousands of visitors the town held an amazing fireworks display.
